Grandeur of the Seas - History

The third unit in the six ship Vision class. Grandeur of the Seas and her sister Enchantment of the Seas were built by Kavaerner Masa, now known as Akers. The first two and final two units were built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique. Closer in design to Vision and Rhapsody of the Seas due to not being built for speed, you can recognize them by the Royal Caribbean logo attached to a sponsor located between the aft exhast stack and the Viking Crown Lounge.

Enchantment and Granduer of the Seas were the first two ships to have been equiped with a GPS based Dynamic Positioning System. Non-GPS based systems had been used for many years prior to this.

Grandeur is thought to be in-line for an expansion identical to her sister Enchantment of the Seas. This is due to her being built to identical specifications by the same yard. Indications are that the other four units in the class are not as capable of being expanded, however that remains speculative information.

The dinning room is named "Great Gatsby Dinning Room" (decks 4 and 5.)
The theater is named "Palladium Theatre."
