Liberty Meets Navigator 11 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
I see you've added that to your blog, Nathan. I really wish I'd been there to see it but alas I had sailed on Constellation the day before. I'd seen Liberty (like Freedom before her) arrive and have a night time TA booze cruise after fireworks. So it was left to my dad to get this momentous occasion on record only, apart from the initial dock photo, once Liberty started moving he didn't use the zoom on the camera, only the video! He's learnt his lesson. He told me the marina was absolutely packed. Liberty turned then as she neared Navigator, pulled into the dock so they were almost nose to nose. Kissing Cousins the Echo headline read. They did a lot of blasting to each other there and when Liberty moved off again. As Liberty passed the teeny Saga Rose and Saga Ruby, which were in the QEII terminal, as she made her way out towards the Solent, they blasted to her as well which was great as they don't usually salute any rival line.

With Independence arriving on the 25th April and Brilliance ending a transatlantic here on the 26th I'm hoping they'll do something similar as Brilliance heads to refit. I'll be down there for Brilliance anyway so it will be wonderful having two Royal Caribbean ships in port together again.

When we were on Navigator of the Seas, Explorer was nose to nose with her. It was very cool and a whole lot of waving was going on from ship to ship.

Navigator remains my favorite ship in the fleet, if only because of the quality of the experience. Capt. Bang runs a tight ship, and it really can be seen in the crew's mood and execution.

Although we've got Indy for at least two seasons, I do miss Navigator being around.

I was really disappointed they didn't have Brilliance meet Indy in April. I think they intended too despite her running an hour late to sail for refit. She came way out from the dock rather than slightly and edging forward to the turning circle as normally happens. Someone must have said to just turn and go because as she was heading for the channel to go up to Indy, she suddenly headed for the turning circle. Indy blasted to her but she didnt reply. I can only hope they bring us Oasis for a glimpse and have her and Indy meet or I'll go right off RCI!
