Hi everyone, My wife and I have been on 5 cruises, 3 with RC. We strayed and went with Carnival the last 2 and I'm looking forward to getting back on the more classy Royal Car. ships again. This is the first time I've been in this particular forum and am looking foward to seeing others views on this cruise line. We're from Iowa so we really like to get away in the winter.

What ships have you been on? And what would you say are the main differences between RCI and CCL?

We've been on Vision, Adventure, and Jewel. CCL. ships are more gawdy, at least the Miracle was. The layout was confusing, especially in the buffet dining room. The formal dining room was decorated in purple grapes ,very dark and the waiters were'nt half as good as RC. The main reason we went with them was economic. They are a little cheaper.

Spend time relaxing in the Viking Crown lounge. I think that is the most under-used part of the Voyager class. The view and peace during the day is great.
Aside from that, take walks at night, its something else I don't think people try enough. Its easy to lose yourself in the big ship, but refreshing to connect with the sea on deck.
