Just returned from another great 4 day cruise aboard the Monarch of the Seas. Great food and Entertainment. A n Interesting Fact the Monarch of the Seas and Royal Caribbean have the first Female Capitan in the industry. Her name is Karin Janson I think from Sweeden. She is very nice, tall and I'm guessing in her 40's. It is nice that Royal Caribbean has another first in the industry.

Wow that is awesome! congrats on the cruise. We've only done one short cruise (5 nt) and didn't care for it as much because it seemed like the people aboard (not staff) were not very nice and like they had never left their homes before (no manners). What has been your experience with shorter cruises?

My first cruise was a short tour on Sovereign. I found the crew and passengers very nice. But I learned it is harder to relax and get deep into the cruise before its over. Even knowing you have a few more days, as on a 7 day cruise, you relax faster, knowing your not going anyplace.

But as I like to say, any cruise is better than no cruise.

The big advantage with the shorter cruises is that there is a much higher participation rate. Everyone is in the Casino, disco, and at the shows.
