I'm Patsy and I live near Southampton where Royal Caribbean have finally been basing ships since 2005 after too many years teasing us with newbuilds popping in. It starting with Legend of the Seas for two seasons. This year we had the fabulous Navigator of the Seas (which I did a short cruise on in June) and next year we have Independence of the Seas (which I'll be on the maiden short in May). I love Royal Caribbean. They are my favourite cruise line.

Welcome I too am a large fan of RCCL and have cruised many times. I have a cruise on the Independence on Nov 6th, 2008 for it's Transatlantic to Florida, My question is where would you reccomend to stay the night before in Southhampton?? Not the most expensive but next level down, any suggestions would help!

I had a bit of trouble accessing again last week. I'll keep my eyes peeled. The more RC ships that call here the better!

Phil, I'll be over at Mayflower Park that day to take photos of the departure. It will be the only chance to get her lit up until 2009. The Holiday Inn is right next to Mayflower Park on Herbert Walker Avenue and also close to the terminal. You can stroll across the road to the park or down the road to the Dock Gate 8 entrance and see your ship looming over the terminal building.
