The annual right of passage has begun, and Royal Caribbean fans are searching through the just released 2012-2013 itineraries. One theme you will find immediately is that of ships being recalled from Europe. Royal Caribbean International had been staging record numbers of ships in Europe, where it was thought stronger pricing and economics would prove profitable. However, from the debt crisis in Portugal and Spain, chaos with the European Union's currency, and more recently, governments falling and civil war in Libya, the market has been hurt. Now we see Royal Caribbean International redeploying more of its fleet in the traditional Bahamian and Caribbean market.
The 2012-2013 Caribbean fleet will include: - Oasis of the Seas
- Allure of the Seas
- Freedom of the Seas
- Explorer of the Seas
- Enchantment of the Seas
- Monarch of the Seas
- Majesty of the Seas
- Adventure of the Seas
- Brilliance of the Seas
- Mariner of the Seas
- Navigator of the Seas
The last Sovereign Class, Monarch and Majesty of the Seas, will continue to run the short 3 and 4 night cruises to the Bahamas. Navigator, Jewel, and Mariner of the Seas will deploy to New Orleans, Tampa, and Galveston, to cover western Caribbean itineraries respectively. Explorer and Enchantment of the Seas will maintain their departures from Bayonne in New Jersey. Brilliance and Adventure of the Seas take sail from San Juan. Oasis, Allure, and Freedom will keep the Milk Run itineraries looping Cuba. Liberty of the Seas will run four and five night cruises out of Port Everglades.
