The election is over, by the campaign has just begun.  That is, Royal Caribbean’s new ad campain, The Nation of Why Not, kicked off this morning during most of the major morning news shows.  Created by Royal Caribbean International’s lead ad agency, JWT NY, and several WPP agencies, such as Mindshare and RMG, the ads are part of a fully integrated campaign.  In addition to the normal TV spots, the website www.nationofwhynot.com  is now live, featuring the ability to upload photos and stories.  It remains basic, but the framework is there for a nice “viral” marketing hook.  Royal Caribbean will also take to placing print material in various national print publications.

The new campaign is only getting underway.  But from the early peak at the new website, it looks promising.  After ten years of “Get out there!” they have a variable household name to replace.  The memorable Iggy Pop tune won’t fade from memory any faster than a former co-host of Regis did with her tune.  But these new ads might create a new tune to add to your iPod play lists!
